Many professionals like cameraman, photographers and other person always look for the external massive storage device. Sony introduces two new external hard drives Sony’s SL-M and SL-C. These devices are designed to give high performance. On the other hand, the external SSDs boast remarkably fast read/write speeds, hardware encryption, are impact-proof and sealed against damaging water and dust.
The new SL-M series and the standard compact SL-C series are external SSD drives from Sony. They boast ultra-toughness, high-speed, hardware encryption and new utility software features aimed at photographers and videographers.
Sony’s SL-M and SL-C
While talking about the design of these two SSDs, both has one-piece aluminum body with an omnidirectional shockproof construction. Not only has this but that gives the user with a sense of security when it comes to storing data. The external devices have an IP67 rating; both series are dustproof and waterproof and feature a USB Type-C port that is waterproof even without a sealing cap. Sp, you can protect the data if dropped in up to 3 feet of water. Besides that they are long-lasting and can withstand pressure of up to 6000kg. Furthermore, both are impact proof, withstanding drops from up to 9 feet.
The Sony drives have models feature a LED so it’s easy to see, as well as rubber bands to hold ID labels in place and label stickers to identify different drives. The SL-M series has read and write speed of up to 1000MB/s, while the standard compact SL-C series has up to 540MB/s read speed and 520MB/s write speed. Both series also feature a USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB Type-C) interface and the SL-M series is able to achieve reasonably fast high speeds by using NVMe SSD technology.
Sony’s SL-M and SL-C modes are equipped with four helpful features to make sure that the data remain safe in any case. The first, they are with password protection, data can be secured with hardware encryption providing AES 256-bit encryption without any speed decline.
Then there is dual password protection is supported on the SSD Utility app which is free to download. Thirdly the SSD Utility app, updates or upgrades can be applied to keep the device working perfectly. While, the fourth, file rescue software helps to reduce fear over losing precious data. Both models with be available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB storage capacities.
